How Ragdoll MMA works

Ragdoll MMA is a physics-based mixed martial arts fighting game. Your goal is to win a fight inside the RFC cage using boxing, roundhouse kicks, wrestling and ground-and-pound. Each match runs three one-minute rounds and is decided by scoring, or by a knockout.

The game stands out because its combat is driven by physics. Punches, kicks and grabs affect fighters' bodies, and fighters react with ragdoll movement. Takedowns and ground fighting are physical as well, and a finish can trigger a slow-motion X-ray replay that shows the damage.

The game is in early development, so its controls and combat balance are still being changed. You can challenge other players, fight bots at Easy, Medium or Hard, or practice your skills on your own.

Modes

Ragdoll MMA modes and maps

  • RFC cage

    The fighting arena, where all matches take place. Rounds are one minute long and the fight is scored over three rounds, unless it ends by knockout.

  • Challenge other players

    A player-versus-player option where you fight another player in the RFC cage.

  • Hard bots

    Computer opponents at the highest difficulty setting, for fighting against a bot.

  • Practice

    A mode for working on your skills without the pressure of a scored fight.

  • Personal Gym

    A dedicated, invitation-only gym server with an octagon, walk-in stairs, jiu-jitsu mats, heavy bags, torso targets, speed bags and bot placement. Bots can be set to Peaceful, Easy, Medium or Hard, and knocked-out bots disappear after a few

  4. Challenge another player or move up to Medium or Hard bots once you are comfortable with the controls.
