How Hounds of Marrow County works
Hounds of Marrow County is a survival game set in a haunted forest in the Appalachian mountains. You hunt, fish, and try to survive. You start the journey with a mutt at your side, and the two of you work through the hardships of Marrow County together.
The core loop is hunting and surviving. You track and kill animals, skin them, and sell them. The game includes more than 40 kinds of animals to hunt. You can use more than 15 guns, each with a different playstyle, and attachments to suit different players. Along the way you can collect money in the form of Marks.
What sets the game apart is its night and its companions. Night does not slow you down the way daytime does, but the forest is not safe after dusk because more than animals come out. The game also offers more than 25 dogs, each with its own personality and traits to help you. You can build and customize your own lodge, set it as your waypoint, and display your trophies there.
